Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assist the maintenance team with repairs. The role requires 1 year of machine repair experience and knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, control tech, and welding.

Duties include ordering parts, maintaining repair logs, and upholding safety standards. Must be 18+ and able to work in a team, contributing to a safe, efficient facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• At least 1 year of experience in machine repair/maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, control technology and welding.
• Knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws/regulations.
• Familiarity with hazardous waste/material handling procedures.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Performs regular, preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, tools and building.
• Assists in repairing woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts per manuals.
• Orders supplies and parts as required.
• Maintains records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Follows safety rules and keeps work area clean and organized.
• Participates in safety and other programs and meetings.
