Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools, and assist in various repairs within the Maintenance Department. The role emphasizes safety, accurate record-keeping, and teamwork to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma and 1 year of machine repair experience, with knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, control tech, welding, and hazardous material handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience in machine repair or maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and control technology, and welding.
• Understanding of safe equipment practices, laws, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of hazardous waste/material handling procedures.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, tools, and building.
• Assist in repair of woodworking machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools, and forklifts per diagrams/manuals.
• Order supplies and parts as required.
• Maintain records of repair and maintenance activities.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Participate in safety, CI, and other programs/meetings.
• Handle hazardous waste/material procedures if assigned to Treating Department.
• Prepare various reports as required.
• Perform other duties as required.
