Job summary

Sibelco in Delavan is seeking a Mechanic I to perform preventative maintenance, repair facility machinery, and support equipment upgrades. You will also troubleshoot basic electrical issues, weld and fabricate components, and assist in training new technicians while maintaining maintenance logs.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong time management, teamwork, and safety-mindedness. Prior experience with drawings or glass processing is a plus, and the team values collaboration

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize effectively.

• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance spare parts inventory and order parts as needed
• Perform general preventative maintenance and repairs on facility machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical issues and pneumatic valves
• Weld, fabricate and patch steel components as needed
• Rig and install motors, conveyor pulleys, and other heavy machinery
• Maintain and back up sorting computer software and parameters
• Complete daily maintenance logs and manage preventative Maintenance programs
• Communicate equipment issues across shifts and support team efforts
• Provide on the job training to new employees and serve as backup for other technicians
