Job summary

Sibelco is seeking a Mechanic I to join our Delavan, WI team. You will perform preventive maintenance, repair facility equipment, and support continuous operations. This role requires hands-on mechanical skills and the ability to work safely in a manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, strong problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with reading schematics. This permanent, on-site position offers growth opportunities within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics is preferred.
  • Glass processing knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain spare parts inventory and order parts as needed.
  • Perform general preventative maintenance and repairs on facility machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical issues and pneumatic valves.
  • Weld, fabricate and patch steel components as needed.
  • Rig and install motors, conveyor pulleys, and other heavy machinery.
  • Maintain and back up sorting computer software and parameters.
  • Complete daily maintenance logs and manage preventative maintenance programs.
  • Communicate equipment issues across shifts and support team efforts.
  • Provide on the job training to new employees and serve as backup for other technicians.

Your Impact in This Role

As a Mechanic, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
