The Position

The Opportunity

Work shift: 2nd shift: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm. Days: Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday

As a Maintenance Technician in the GenMark team, your main task is to support the development and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, instruments, fixtures, and tooling used in manufacturing, research, and development environments. Additionally, you will:

• Troubleshoot and adjust mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues on GenMark’s ePlex Cartridge and Consumable manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Follow step-by-step instructions to perform assigned preventive maintenance on production equipment and maintain manufacturing and R&D equipment to manufacturers’ specifications.
• Assist with process improvement projects, including spare parts program fixtures needed to support manufacturing, R&D, and other company needs.

Additional responsibilities for Maintenance Technician II

• Execute equipment validations (IQ/OQ) and document all activities following Good Documentation Practices.
• Document equipment and engineering activities in accordance with established procedures, company policies, and FDA regulations.
• Lead special projects as requested and perform additional duties as assigned.

Who you are

Maintenance Technician I

• High School Diploma required, with 0-2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment or a technical/trade school degree (preferred).
• Experience focused on electro-mechanical equipment repair, troubleshooting, systems calibrations, and/or preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of CGMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, or other regulated environments.

Maintenance Technician II

• High School Diploma required, with at least 2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment or a technical/trade school degree (preferred).
• Experience with electro-mechanical equipment repair, troubleshooting, systems calibrations, and/or preventive maintenance.
• Asset Database Management system experience required.
• Knowledge of CGMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 820 required.
• Experience with laboratory diagnostic instrument software and systems.

Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for these positions based on the primary location of Carlsbad, CA, is $40,700 - $75,700 USD annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other factors. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on performance.
