Job summary

Colorado Springs Housing Authority is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for our Maintenance Department in Colorado Springs, CO 80903. This full-time role (Mon-Fri, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm) focuses on 70% janitorial and 30% repair work across nine buildings and scattered site homes, following HUD/NSPIRE/CSHA guidelines.

You will deliver excellent tenant-focused service, complete entry-level plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks, and maintain property upkeep with documented work orders.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass a thorough background check and drug test.
• Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License.
• Must have the willingness to learn the task/responsibilities of the position and complete task assigned.
• Must have good organizational skills.
• Must pay close attention to details.
• Must have the ability to adapt to change and be flexible.
• Must be available to work on call after hours for snow removal/emergency/disaster situations as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service to all staff, tenants, and potential tenants.
• Complete assigned work orders and tasks that require entry level skills and techniques in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Maintain the upkeep of properties by completing the janitorial duties assigned by your supervisor.
• Estimate time, materials and equipment required for jobs assigned; requisition materials as required.
• Maintain work order records; file reports as needed; possess the ability to operate and adapt to the required technology provided.
• Be available for snow removal/emergency/disaster situations as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to safe work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards.
• Operate various hand and power tools and shop equipment, while observing safe work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards.
