Job summary

Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to inspect, repair, and maintain campus facilities. The role involves basic plumbing/electrical tasks, equipment upkeep, and assisting other tradesmen.

A valid driver’s license and safety adherence are required; shifts may include overtime and some overnight duties during weather events. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, with possible adjustments for campus events or emergencies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow directions.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and heating/cooling.
• 0-3 years of experience in a related trade or equivalent education.
• Adherence to safety rules per University Safety Policy.
• Valid driver’s license and good hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Identify deficiencies and perform inspections of equipment and buildings.
• Perform general repairs including minor plumbing and electrical work.
• Assist other maintenance tradesmen as directed.
• Operate light/heavy equipment and maintain tools.
• Assist with snow removal as needed.
