Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to help keep plant equipment running safely and efficiently. The role involves mechanical and electrical maintenance, preventive tasks, and contributing to food safety and quality in a busy milling operation.

Shifts are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with weekends and some holidays; a background in electronics, mechanics or welding is valued; 5+ years' experience in relevant manufacturing preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and a 2-year technical degree in electronics, mechatronics, mechanics, welding, automation, or related field.
• Preferred 5+ years of maintenance experience in flour milling, food processing, or related manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment to maximize plant reliability and production efficiency.
• Performing preventive maintenance, welding, fabrication, equipment installation, and equipment testing to ensure safe and effective operations.
• Supporting food safety, GMP, OSHA, HACCP, and FSMA requirements while maintaining an audit-ready facility and clean work environment.
