Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Kentucky is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support material handling maintenance, perform preventative and predictive tasks, and repair conveyors and related systems. You will work with mechanical power transmission, electrical and PLC controls, welding, and fabrication under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read drawings and manuals; strong safety awareness and good communication

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude through background or hobbies in technical areas.
• Two years of FedEx Operations Sortation equipment knowledge or related program enrollment may be considered in lieu of aptitude.
• Related military technical experience or electrical/mechanical trade experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic preventative and predictive maintenance and repair of material handling systems under supervision.
• Diagnose simple mechanical power transmission issues visually or audibly at the component level.
• Follow safety standards and attend trainings to maintain a safe work environment.
• Respond to maintenance needs with supervision and participate in smaller projects.
