Job summary
Dollar Tree is seeking a Maintenance Technician I at our Chesapeake Distribution Center to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, building systems, and electrical/controls equipment. You will ensure peak equipment efficiency and a safe work environment.
Responsibilities include completing work orders, communicating issues to leadership, and maintaining quality workmanship. Shift work, overtime, and holiday coverage are expected; associate benefits and growth
Qualifications
- Coursework or certification in electronic technology and 2 years industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology OR 3 years industrial maintenance experience in electronic technology (including troubleshooting and repairing automated equipment)
- PLC/PC programming knowledge and troubleshooting experience
- Hands-on industrial electrical experience, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24 VDC systems
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with PCs and industrial control devices/networking
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to business leadership
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on equipment, including lift trucks, pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, and electrical/electronic systems
- Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, logic controls, PLCs, motor drives (Servo and VFD), and external I/O devices
- Diagnose electrical problems using technical drawings (blueprints, schematics) and diagnostic tools (multi-meter, laptop)
- Assist other maintenance technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment
- Initiate and implement new procedures or designs to maintain equipment efficiency
- Maintain organized work area and promote a safe working environment within the Maintenance department
- Complete work orders, records, logs, and other documentation according to established procedures
- Communicate technical issues effectively to associates, leadership, and suppliers to minimize equipment downtime
- Ensure workmanship meets the highest quality standards
- Operate material handling equipment, battery-powered equipment, and other powered machinery safely
- Maintain a customer service-oriented approach while addressing technical issues
