Qualifications

Job description

Essential Functions:

Assists Senior mechanic with day-to-day duties such as machine troubleshooting, light plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and forklift maintenance. Also moves furniture, waters batteries, changes light bulbs.

Non-Essential Functions:
  1. Assist with company related functions.
  2. Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.
Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  2. Must possess valid driver’s license.
  3. Previous experience in warehouse environment and 1-3 years work experience in general repairs.
  4. Experience with using hand tools: drills, saws, hammers, and wrenches.
  5. Operation of electric forklifts.
Physical Requirements:

The requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

  1. Must be able to stand up to 10 hours in a day.
  2. Must be able to walk up to 8 hours.
  3. Will continuously reach up and out.
  4. Will occasionally climb.
  5. Will occasionally push/pull from 11 to 75 pounds.
  6. Will frequently bend, stoop, reach up and out, crouch, kneel, and push/pull from 35 to 50 pounds.
  7. Will frequently lift to 50 pounds and occasionally lift to 75 pounds.
  8. Will occasionally have repetitive foot movement.
  9. Will frequently have repetitive hand/arm movements for simple reaching, simple and firm grasping and/or fine hand manipulation.
  10. Specific vision ability required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  11. Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects; and reach with hands and arms.
  12. Must be able to wear gloves occasionally.
Language Skills:

Must have communication skills in English, both written and verbally. Ability to read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and communicate via email system.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a warehouse distribution center environment. The employee is frequently exposed to vibrations and dust and will be working around moving machinery. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate at low decibels. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
