Job summary

FMI Composites LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support production and facility operations in Winston-Salem, NC. The role covers preventive maintenance and the troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to minimize downtime.

The ideal candidate will read schematics, use basic tools and a multimeter, perform general facility upkeep, and have industrial electrical experience as a plus. This full-time position requires safety-minded teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain security clearance.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs and frequent standing, walking and bending.
• Proficiency with hand/power tools; forklift or mobile equipment experience a plus.
• Ability to read and follow safety procedures, manuals, and work instructions.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills; strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including replacing components (motors, sensors, belts, pumps, valves, bearings).
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment issue.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and support production with timely technical assistance.
• Perform general facility maintenance (basic electrical, lighting, plumbing, and building upkeep).
• Install, adjust, and maintain new and existing equipment.
• Follow all safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout, and wear required PPE in environments with mechanical, chemical, and noise exposure.

What we need from you:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for this position. This position also requires access to export-controlled information for which U.S. Person status is required under applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs and performing frequent standing, walking, and bending
• Proficiency with hand/power tools; forklift or mobile equipment experience a plus
