Job summary

Wesley Willows in Rockford, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for the evening shift. The role includes routine maintenance, basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and responding to resident requests, with a 40-hour week Wednesday through Sunday.

You must have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and be able to read instructions and follow diagrams. Prior experience is preferred but not required; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR is required.
• At least 1 year of general building maintenance or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to read simple instructions and follow diagrams.
• Capable of performing tasks independently after receiving instructions.
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in building trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance including basic carpentry, painting, and plumbing.
• Read and follow setup instructions for events across campus.
• Install fixtures like grab bars, towel racks, and address small repairs.
• Move furniture, patch drywall, spot clean or replace carpet tiles.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on vehicles weekly.
• Respond promptly to resident emergency alerts and service requests.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
