Job summary

Sagewood in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for a full-time role. Starting at $21.00/hr, schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, at Independent Living - Sagewood. Flu vaccination is required.

The role involves maintaining the physical plant, completing work orders, and ensuring safety and reliability of building systems while engaging with residents in a friendly, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as maintenance technician.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems.
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices.
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
• HVAC/building maintenance certificate is a plus.
• CMRP certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of the physical plant including preventative maintenance and routine servicing.
• Perform plumbing, repairs and changes of building equipment.
• Interact with residents during assigned work orders and maintain service quality.

Joining our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the physical plant such as preventative maintenance, routine servicing, plumbing, repairs, and changes of building equipment. Who you are:

• Someone who has a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (this position drives a golf cart)
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Work as a team member in a structured working environment.
• Complete work on time and done right.
  • Proven experience as maintenance technician
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems, general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field a plus
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) desired

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Moderate to heavy physical effort; may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain); work in area with high voltage electricity, hazardous equipment and moving parts; work on roof top and other high places; ability to set up and climb ladders safely with tools and equipment necessary for assigned work; must be able to lift 50 pounds; must be able to walk, stand and stoop for an extended period of time (over 80% of the time); exposure to a variety of chemicals and dust daily; may be exposed to the HBV and HIV viruses.
