Job summary

MetOx International, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician for night shift (4pm–4am) to support equipment maintenance and safety across production facilities in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities include rebuilding, inspecting, and maintaining air compressors, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and related systems, with emphasis on safety and quality outcomes. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2 years in a manufacturing or mechanical/electrical support environment; AAS degree is

  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing or mechanical/electrical support role preferred.
  • AAS degree in applied science or relevant field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Rebuilding equipment.
  • Inspecting facility and equipment.
  • Preventive maintenance on facility and equipment.
  • Changing oil on equipment.
  • Monitoring equipment status (vibration, oil analysis, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment and perform PMs.
  • Complete monthly safety equipment checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Rebuilding equipment
  • Inspecting facility & equipment
  • Preventive maintenance on facility and equipment
  • Changing oil on equipment
  • Inspecting equipment
  • Monitoring equipment status (vibration, oils analysis, visual inspection, audible inspection, etc.)
  • Executing receiving end of lock, tag and try
  • Troubleshoot, repair, complete preventive maintenance, and rebuild equipment: Air compressors; air dryers; vacuum pumps; valves; filters; instrumentation; etc.
  • Complete monthly checks of safety equipment.
  • Replacing valves, actuators, instruments, piping, tubing, and small vessels
  • Maintain areas in a clean condition including picking up/taking out trash, minor facility repairs, etc.
  • Work flexible hours and schedule to achieve manufacturing objectives.
  • Receiving of goods (including gas cylinder and dewar deliveries)
  • Implement safe work practices and participate in proactive safety culture to ensure safety for the employee, public and environment.
  • Adhere to company policies inclusive of the attendance policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment or mechanical/electrical support role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AAS degree in applied science or relevant field

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating, and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets is required.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
  • The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner is required.
  • Quickly and efficiently completes tasks.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with less definition, policy, and bureaucracy.
  • Works indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment with potential exposure to temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
  • Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
  • Will be required to serve on the Emergency Response Team.
  • Troubleshooting control systems for input/output using onboard diagnostics and applied tools, multimeter, etc.

Physical Demands
Frequent standing, walking, reaching with arms, using hands, talking, and hearing. Some sitting, climbing, stooping, crawling, or crouching will be needed.Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of up to 10 pounds will be needed and in some instances lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds will be required, manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque.The ability to adjust vision focus from near to far and peripheral is needed as well as the ability to distinguish the difference in colors.
