MetOx International, Inc. is hiring a Production Technician I in Houston, TX to operate specialized equipment in a climate-controlled, high-tech environment.

The role includes following SOPs, engaging in TPM-based maintenance, and supporting engineers with process improvements. Night shift runs 4:00 pm to 4:00 am four days a week, with responsibilities spanning safety compliance, inspections, and efficient production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with technical coursework.
• 1 year of manufacturing or mechanical support experience.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree in applied science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Operates specialized equipment per SOP under supervision.
• Implements safe work practices and participates in safety culture.
• Completes training and certifications for assigned equipment.
• Conducts regular inspections of facility area and equipment.
• Maintains clean work areas using 5S methodology.
• Performs basic TPM maintenance activities.
• Assists in receiving goods (gas cylinders, Dewar deliveries).
• Works flexible hours to meet manufacturing objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Production Technician I at MetOx operates specialized equipment to manufacture, process, and package high-quality products in a clean, climate-controlled, high-tech environment. The Production Technician I uses advanced control systems to select recipes, monitor processes, and operate automated machines. Additionally, they develop skills to minimize equipment disruptions and provide insightful input to engineers for next-generation equipment design improvements.

Night Shift hours are 4:00 pm to 4:00 am four days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates specialized equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures under supervision
• Implements safe work practices and participates in a proactive safety culture to ensure the safety of employees, the public, and the environment
• Completes training requirements and obtains certifications for assigned equipment
• Conducts regular inspections of facility area and equipment
• Maintains clean and organized work areas by using 5S methodology
• Performs minor facility repairs and empties trash as needed
• Performs basic maintenance activities according to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedules
• Works flexible hours and schedules to achieve manufacturing objectives
• Assists in receiving goods, including gas cylinders and dewar deliveries
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED and technical course work
• 1 year of experience in manufacturing environment or mechanical support role

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in applied science or relevant field

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Basic computer skills (MS Word and Excel)
• Ability to log actions in tool or process history
• Responsible, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks under stressful or hazardous condition
• Effective verbal and written communication with various stakeholders
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, less defined environment
• Efficient task completion
• Problem-solving skills for machinery adjustments
• Identifies minor process deviations and escalates the issues
• Required to serve on the Emergency Response Team

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, reaching with arms, using hands, talking, and hearing. Some sitting, climbing, stooping, crawling, or crouching will be needed. Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of up to 10 pounds will be needed and, in some instances, lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds will be required, manually transport a load up to 75 lbs., apply up to 100-foot pounds of torque. The ability to adjust vision focus from near to far and peripheral is needed as well as the ability to distinguish the difference in colors.

Technicians must be clean-shaven to successfully complete the Fit Test and are required to maintain this grooming standard upon their start date. This is essential for the effective use of an Air Purifying Respirator (APR) during specific tasks, ensuring a safe work environment.
