Job description

Legacy Residential is currently seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician specializing in HVAC for a multifamily apartment community in Suitland, MD. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company with a strong history and a promote-from-within culture. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing work orders and repairing HVAC systems, enhancing the living experience for residents.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Diagnosing, performing, inspecting, delegating, and monitoring property-wide maintenance and repairs in a timely and effective manner.
2. Ordering maintenance supplies, adhering to budget constraints, and communicating variances.
3. Maintaining all required logs.
4. Developing and executing a preventative maintenance program.
5. Scheduling and completing unit turns.
6. Coordinating unit renovations, including ordering supplies, scheduling, and supervising vendors.
7. Maintaining strong rapport with residents while delivering high-quality customer service.
8. Being on call as required.
9. Having your own tools.

Preferred licenses and certifications:

• Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
• HVAC certification.
• Five to seven years of experience in repairing HVAC and heat pumps.
• EPA certifications Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling.

Customer service responsibilities:

• Communicating clearly with residents and responding to service requests and concerns professionally and promptly.
• Listening to resident requests and complaints in a calm, supportive, and open manner.

Additional requirements:

• Clean and neat personal appearance.
• Demonstrating excellent customer service skills by treating residents, coworkers, supervisors, and vendors with respect.
• Responding sensitively to maintenance concerns and exhibiting a sense of urgency with work orders.
