Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York is seeking a skilled Mechanic specialized in building operations and HVAC systems. You will perform maintenance, installation and repairs on electrical, lighting, alarm, and intercom equipment and read blueprints to guide your work.

You may supervise junior staff, document activities, and respond to emergency service calls as required. A minimum of 5 years’ related experience and relevant diplomas or certificates are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Trade/Vocational diploma or BIMC-recognized program.
• Minimum 5 years related experience.
• FDNY certificate of fitness or related licenses desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation, removal or replacement per supervisor instructions.
• Operate, maintain and repair electrical, lighting, alarm and intercom systems with proper tools.
• Read blueprints; keep required records and maintain clean work areas.
• Supervise a maintenance worker or trades helper when assigned.
• Respond to service requests and emergencies; assist in HVAC tasks as needed.
