Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group in Tampa invites an energetic Maintenance Technician to join our team as we prepare Grand Opening of Hotel Cala. You will perform preventative maintenance, respond to work orders, and help keep guest rooms and public areas in excellent condition.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years in hotel maintenance, knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry, and strong communication skills. We offer daily pay, health and retirement benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two to three years in a hotel maintenance position.
• Trade school or college equivalent in mechanical, electrical, or technical disciplines is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms.
• Performs preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
• Checks fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintains spare parts and bulbs.
• Responds to maintenance orders promptly and fulfills work orders.
• Completes daily rounds, identifies and reports problems.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
• Perform various other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
