Job summary

FOREST GROVE POST ACUTE is seeking a maintenance worker responsible for keeping grounds, facility, and equipment in safe and efficient condition in line with all federal, state, and local standards. You will follow daily maintenance schedules, coordinate with nursing staff, and perform routine repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems to ensure resident comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of a 10th grade education.
• Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, staff and the public.
• Ability to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into maintenance practices.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Follow maintenance schedules for the assigned shift or area.
• Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Perform routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, polishing, sweeping, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc.
• Clean windows and screens as directed.
• Replace burned out light bulbs and perform cleaning duties as necessary.
• Service heating and cooling units/systems as specified by the manufacturer.
• Perform unscheduled maintenance tasks as directed.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
