Job summary

Envision Real Estate & Management Co. is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician/Handyman to join our on-site team in Hoffman Estates, IL. You will handle plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliance repair, and basic HVAC tasks while supporting resident services.

This role requires weekend work and participation in on-call rotations. We value reliability, clear communication, and the ability to work independently to keep common areas and units in top condition.

Qualifications

• 1 year of building maintenance or related experience.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly, professional, and respectful with residents, vendors, and coworkers.
• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize work and complete projects with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to own projects and see them through to completion.
• Reliable, dependable, and punctual.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physical work outdoors in various weather.
• Availability to work weekends, participate in an on-call rotation, and occasional holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliance repair, and basic HVAC troubleshooting.
• Complete apartment turns efficiently and to a high standard.
• Respond promptly and professionally to resident maintenance requests.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine property inspections.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of common areas, grounds, and building systems.
• Identify maintenance issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Keep accurate records of completed work and materials used.
• Work safely following company policies and building codes.
• Assist with snow removal, landscaping, and other seasonal property needs as required.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
