Job summary

Union Community Care in Lancaster, PA is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain grounds and repairs, respond to security calls, and inspect equipment and building integrity. You will help ensure a safe, functional environment for staff and patients.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, a PA driver’s license, and one year of security experience; familiarity with carpentry, plumbing, and painting tools is a plus. This is a full-time, on-site role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Paint walls, floors, woodwork and fixtures using various tools.
• Repair counters and wooden structures with carpentry tools.
• Open clogged drains and perform minor repairs.
• Clean and lubricate machine shafts, bearings and gears as needed.
• Maintain exterior grounds: lawn care, snow removal, and landscaping.
• Wash interior and exterior windows as required.

Qualifications: JOB SUMMARY

Maintains grounds of agency. Repairs and maintains equipment, plumbing, physical structure and fixtures. Responds to emergency and security calls. Inspects the building for security for employees.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES

1. Inspects premises for such irregularities as signs of intrusion and/or interruption of service.


2. Responds to emergency calls from security system agency. Cooperates with police and fire authorities in such emergency calls. Alerts administration (CEO/COO) of any irregularities.


3. Inspects burglar alarm and fire extinguisher sprinkler systems to ascertain they are set to operate.


4. Paints walls, floors, woodwork and fixtures of establishment using spray gun, roller, and brushes.


5. Makes and repairs counters, benches, and other wooden structures using saws, braces, bits, and other carpenter’s tools.


6. Opens clogged drains, using plunger and plumber’s tools and performs minor repairs.


7. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, and other parts of machines using rags, brushes, and grease gun.


8. Maintains building exterior, including lawn mowing, trimming and edging, lawn and shrubbery spraying, lawn watering, planting of grass, flowers and trees, and snow removal and salt application to sidewalks, lots, etc. in the winter.


9. Responsible for washing windows as needed –internal and external.


10. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED


• Current, valid driver’s license in Pennsylvania


• Minimal gardening experience


• One year of security experience


• English proficiency required


• Ability to use a variety of tools, including carpentry, plumbing, and painting tools


• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills


• Honor patient confidentiality
