Job description

Doing work on projects and repairs as assigned by the Director of Maintenance. Ensures the work is carried out in a safe and professional manner by performing the following duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Prior experience or training preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Duties the employee is required to perform that have a major impact on the delivery of services to our clientele:

  • Carrying out routine assignments on a regularly scheduled program of maintenance.
  • Clearing the sidewalks and driveways of snow in winter.
  • Routine repair, new construction, upkeep and maintenance of the facility buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment which may require carpentry, plumbing, electrical or mechanical skills.
  • Lawn care and upkeep.
  • Being aware of safety at all times by monitoring the buildings and grounds for potential hazards and bringing them to the attention of the management.
  • Participation in agency maintenance on-call. Must communicate with calling department/staff within 15 minutes.
  • Responding to emergency calls after hours and on weekends as needed. If not responding to a call, the director will be notified immediately detailing the call, need, and reasoning for which you are not reporting.
COMPETENCY EXPECTATIONS

Must demonstrate during probationary period, first 90 days of employment, competencies in the following areas:

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

This position requires participation in ongoing mandatory trainings while employed. Training requirements are detailed in the Training Matrix which is maintained by the Human Resources Department. Along with their supervisor, each staff person is responsible for reviewing the Training Matrix to determine individual training requirements and completing those requirements in a timely manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not directly supervise any other positions.

PHYSICAL/HEALTH ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS

This position is required to have a pre-employment physical. This position is required to have a DOT Physical.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires an active driver's license and a DMV check that is clear. Position may require travel in the communities served or state of Pennsylvania for position requirements 25-50% of the time.
