Job summary

Seaboard Foods in Rolla is seeking a Maintenance Team Member to help maintain and repair buildings and facilities, including automated feed systems, water, ventilation, and electrical components, to keep operations running smoothly. The role requires reading simple instructions, basic math, and following work orders. A two-year technical degree or GED is preferred, plus a valid driver's license and ability to pass a DOT medical exam. Benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders.
• Apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver's license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect systems (feed, water, ventilation, cooling, electrical) for animal production facilities.
• Use hand/power tools and precision measuring instruments as required.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine maintenance needs.
• Welding of building equipment and fabrications as needed.
• On-call for emergency situations.

Education

Two-year technical degree

GED or high school diploma preferred

1–3 months experience or training

Read and comprehend simple instructions

Basic math skills

Interpret instructions (written, oral, diagram, schedule)

Valid driver's license with clean MVR

DOT medical card ability

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and inspect, for the following but not limited to automated feed systems, fresh water systems, recycle systems, cool cells, ventilation, controllers, and penning for animal production facilities sites to ensure operations run efficiently and effectively.
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Follow work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment require replacement, repair or maintenance.
• Welding of buildings equipment including load out chutes, and fabrications of some penning or gating.
• Must be on call available for emergency situations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Two-year technical degree or greater, High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months experience or training; or combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and work orders. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Must possess a current valid driver's license, acceptable MVR, and ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical card
