Job summary

SSC Services for Education in Dallas, TX, is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to support electrical and mechanical building systems, perform diagnostics, and lead maintenance activities within educational facilities.

You will train staff, oversee vendors, maintain logs, and respond to emergencies as part of the facility team; a journeyman license and trade schooling are required.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.

Responsibilities

• Assists in making decisions on repairs and reports major problems.
• Maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical building systems.
• Cleans, services and diagnoses HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Reads and transmits complex instructions verbally and in writing.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to other staff.
• Reviews outside vendors' work and creates punch lists.
• Maintains logs, completes work orders and inspections.
