Job summary

Produce Innovations/Loffredo Fresh Foods in Norwalk, IA, is seeking Maintenance Technician I or III to join our food processing plant. The role involves basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and collaboration with QA and Operations to ensure food safety and efficiency.

The Maintenance Tech I is entry-level with learning opportunities in plant equipment, while Tech III handles advanced troubleshooting and complex repairs, including refrigeration systems and welding.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and develop maintenance skills.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hand and power tools.
• General DIY, mechanical, plumbing, or maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
• Ability to safely follow instructions, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food processing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks, including greasing equipment, basic plumbing, painting, sharpening knives, replacing light bulbs and locks, and unclogging filters.
• Perform daily equipment rounds and basic equipment functions, including safely starting and stopping equipment and changing gas on the Bison machine.
• Unjam equipment and perform general DIY maintenance tasks.
• Test control cabinet lights and perform basic equipment inspections.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and all general safety requirements.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues for Maintenance Technician III.
• Read and interpret technical prints and schematics.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, VFDs, and equipment leaks.
• Follow OSHA 10 certification requirements.
