Job summary

YES Communities in Illinois is looking for a Maintenance Technician to maintain grounds, manage preventative maintenance, handle work orders, and assist with home refurbishments and set‑ups while engaging with residents. You will follow safety standards, respond to after-hours calls, read meters, and collaborate with teammates to keep the community assets in top condition.

Qualifications

• In-state driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Home refurbishment/make-ready experience preferred.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and pool operation experience a plus.
• OSHA certifications or trainings are a plus.
• Proficiency with industry software and tablets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain rental inventory through preventative maintenance, work-orders, and home refurbishments.
• Keep community grounds, common areas, and vacant lots clean and safe.
• Complete all work timely without compromising safety or quality.
• Respond to after-hour emergency calls per on-call schedule.
• Read water meters, identify leaks, and resolve issues as applicable.
• Organize maintenance facilities, tools, and equipment.
• Assist in new home delivery/set-up and report warranty work to management.
• Deliver resident notices as requested by management.
• Participate in team/safety meetings and follow OSHA standards.
