Job summary

PrideNow in Danbury, CT is seeking a Maintenance Technician / General Mechanical to support our chemical manufacturing facility with plumbing, HVAC, and general mechanical maintenance. The role involves pipe cutting, installation, repair, and monitoring of management systems on large-scale equipment.

The position offers 2nd shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM) or 3rd shift (Sunday–Friday, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM) with additional shift differential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of directly related experience in mechanical maintenance, plumbing, or a related field.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and manuals.
• Ability to record equipment operational status and prepare technical reports.
• Proficiency with applicable hand and power tools.
• Forklift/heavy machinery experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pipe cutting, preassembly, installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems and components.
• Monitor production management systems to identify operational status and system malfunctions.
• Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, design, and modify production equipment related to plumbing.
• Install, repair, and maintain chilled water, steam, heating, water, gas, drainage, sewage, and other plumbing systems.
• Maintain and repair pumps, boilers, heaters, valves, traps, backflow prevention devices, and piping systems.
• Assist with installation and repair of hot and cold water lines and building heating systems.
• Operate pipe-cutting equipment, threading tools, reamers, snakes, sewer tapes, and other hand and power tools.
• May operate machine tools to fabricate parts, as well as forklifts and other heavy machinery.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building system components.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas in accordance with safety requirements.
• Follow all company environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician / General Mechanical to join our Production Facility in Danbury, CT. This position works in a chemical manufacturing environment with large-scale manufacturing equipment and supports general mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and building system maintenance.

• A related higher degree or plumbing-related technical certification/license may substitute for experience.
• Experience with plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of pumps, boilers, heaters, valves, and other mechanical/plumbing components.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and manuals.
• Ability to record equipment operational status and prepare technical reports.
• Proficiency with applicable hand and power tools.
• Ability to test, maintain, and modify engineering equipment and systems.
• Forklift/heavy machinery experience is a plus.
• $55,000 – $70,000/year
