Job summary

PrideNow in Trenton, NJ is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our industrial manufacturing client. You will perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors, and production machinery, diagnose mechanical issues, and repair hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

You will document activities in CMMS and support training of line mechanics and apprentices. The role requires reading blueprints, using precision measuring tools, hand/power tools, and fabricating parts as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, hand/power tools, and shop equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints/diagrams and engineering documentation.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing production machinery and conveyors.
• Capable of safely performing physically demanding work; medical examination may be required.

Our client, a leading industrial manufacturing company, is looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic in Trenton, NJ.

Pay Rate Range: $34.25/hour

Shifts Available:

• 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• 4th Shift: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical malfunctions using diagrams, sketches, technical manuals, and test instruments.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Identify sources of mechanical issues by observing equipment operation and using precision measuring tools.
• Remove and replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect used parts and measure components using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to determine wear and dimensional accuracy.
• Adjust functional components using appropriate tools and techniques to restore equipment performance.
• Fabricate and machine replacement parts using shop equipment, including milling machines, drill presses, lathes, and welding equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate orders for equipment, tools, parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Maintain technical knowledge through training, technical manuals, and collaboration with maintenance professionals.
• Document maintenance activities, report equipment irregularities, and communicate ongoing maintenance needs across shifts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and engineering documentation to install, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document maintenance activities and track repairs.
• Provide training and technical support to line mechanics and apprentices as needed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to report equipment issues and share troubleshooting solutions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety procedures.
• Follow all applicable safety regulations and established work practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic or maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency using precision measuring instruments, hand tools, power tools, and machine shop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, engineering documentation, and equipment manuals.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing production machinery, conveyors, motors, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, standing, and working in industrial environments.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a maintenance team.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience using a CMMS is preferred.
• Must successfully complete a required medical examination, including X-ray, as a condition of employment.
• Must be able to meet the physical and safety requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
