Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City in Overland Park is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, interior maintenance and exterior cleaning. This full-time role follows a Sunday-Thursday schedule with varied shifts and event-based adjustments.

Responsibilities include maintaining plumbing, lighting, carpentry, drywall and kitchen equipment, with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial building maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting and cleaning (pool maintenance a plus).
• Able to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to read and follow instructions.
• Able to use common workplace technology (email, internet, software).

Responsibilities

• Light plumbing maintenance (sinks, showers, toilets, etc.).
• Maintenance of lighting and electrical systems (ballasts, bulbs, outlets).
• Carpentry, drywall, mudding, painting and wallpapering.
• Install and maintain drop ceiling tiles.
• Outdoor grounds maintenance (trash, salt, snow).
• Assist with room setup/tear-down and general cleanup.
• Clean and maintain equipment in commercial kitchens.
• Interior trash pickup and other cleaning.
• Assist Building Engineer as needed.
• Other duties assigned.
