Job summary

Ecumen is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a supportive team at Willow Wood Apartments in White Bear Lake and Lilac Parkway in Robbinsdale. This full-time position runs Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with on-call duties for building maintenance emergencies.

Candidates bring 3+ years in janitorial/maintenance and a Minnesota Boiler License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Ecumen offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years janitorial/maintenance experience.
• Minnesota Special Engineer Boiler License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Valid Driver's License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
• Ability to follow all safety rules and procedures (GHS, HIPAA, OSHA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Operates all building equipment, including HVAC and fixed assets, performing routine maintenance.
• Completes non-routine repairs on building equipment and resident services requests.
• Maintains maintenance and janitorial supplies and reports procurement needs.
• Initiates safety tasks such as fire drills and generator operations and documents activities.
• Provides training to new team members on assignments and schedules.
• Works with contractors for upgrades, repairs, or new installations.
• Follows safety procedures and participates in safety training and meetings.
• Performs janitorial duties such as carpet extraction and routine housekeeping.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for complex maintenance and janitorial duties in addition to basic maintenance and janitorial responsibilities.

This position will support both Willow Wood Apartments in White Bear Lake and Lilac Parkway is in Robbinsdale.

• Pay:
  • The targeted pay range for this job is $25.50 - $29.50 per hour.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Operates all building equipment, including HVAC and other fixed asset equipment, performing manufacturer's recommended routine maintenance tasks as identified in the preventive maintenance software.
2. Completes work requests for non-routine repairs on all building equipment including performing apartment room turns involving minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc. including resident requests for service.
3. Maintains maintenance and janitorial supply and equipment levels, reports procurement needs to supervision.
4. Initiates regulatory compliance tasks such as fire drills and emergency generator operations, logging all such activity as required.
5. Provides training to new team members on work assignments and schedules.
6. Works with contractors performing upgrades, repairs, or new installations.
7. Follows all established safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions to supervision, participates in safety committee meetings or conducts regular safety training to staff, documenting all activities.
8. Responsible for janitorial duties such as carpet extraction, specialty cleaning tasks, hard floor care and routine housekeeping tasks.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Driving Requirements:

Local Travel and Driver's License Required

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years janitorial/maintenance experience
• Minnesota Special Engineer Boiler License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

• Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Globally Harmonized System (GHS), Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
