Job summary

Ecumen is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform complex and basic maintenance tasks in a senior living community in Minneapolis. Duties include plumbing, electrical, HVAC support, carpentry, and janitorial work, with on-call and occasional weekend/holiday coverage.

The role offers full-time hours (80 bi-weekly), a pay range of $25.00–$27.50 per hour, and comprehensive benefits. Strong safety awareness and resident-focused service are encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of janitorial/maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, repairs, and services building mechanical needs including minor plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Perform janitorial duties such as carpet extraction, specialty cleaning, floor care and routine housekeeping.
• Occasional carpentry, drywall/painting, and basic grounds maintenance.
• Operate building equipment and report data in preventive maintenance software.
• Respond to on-call requirements and participate in weekend/holiday coverage as needed.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for complex maintenance and janitorial duties in addition to basic maintenance and janitorial responsibilities.

Opportunity Details:

• The targeted pay range for this job is $25.00 - $27.50 per hour.
• Full-Time 80 hrs bi-weekly - Weekdays 8am-4:30pm - occasional on-call/weekend/holiday requirements.

• Diagnoses, repairs, and services building mechanical needs including minor plumbing (faucets, etc.), electrical (replace lamps, etc.), and mechanical (furnace, air conditioning, etc.).
• Responsible for janitorial duties such as carpet extraction, specialty cleaning tasks, and hard floor care, and routine housekeeping tasks.
• Performs minor carpentry and drywall/painting tasks.
• Operates building equipment including air handling equipment (including filter/belt replacement) and emergency power generators (including minor engine maintenance).
• Responsible for reporting and recording equipment data in preventive maintenance software.
• Provides basic grounds maintenance including cutting grass and snow removal.
• Completes minor vehicle maintenance including oil change.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Driving Requirements:

Local Travel and Driver’s License Required

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of janitorial/maintenance experience
• Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance and satisfactory motor vehicle record
• Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Globally Harmonized System (GHS), Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in related field
• Previous experience working with seniors
