Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a maintenance specialist to join a diverse team at our facilities in Washington state.

You will perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on building systems, direct detainee maintenance staff, and ensure availability of tools and materials for tasks. Responsibilities include carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general mechanical repairs, while maintaining safety and security procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years general maintenance and/or related construction trade experience.
• Valid, active driver’s license.
• Knowledge of equipment needed for proper repairs.
• Ability to perform general plumbing, carpentry, mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Communicate effectively with residents and staff; respond quickly in emergencies.
• U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
• Residency in the United States or territories for the last five years.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and machinery for preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance.
• Survey assigned jobs and ensure materials and tools are available.
• Direct and inspect the work of detainee maintenance staff, providing technical assistance.
• Perform carpentry to repair or replace doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, etc.
• Carry out repairs for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems.
• Perform electrical work, including repairing/replacing fluorescent fixtures and wiring.
• Execute minor construction work using hand and power tools.
• Complete mechanical work involving facility machinery, motors, and vehicles.
• Assist in maintaining the security of assigned detainees.
