Job summary

CBRE is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician for a Life Science Facility in Framingham, MA. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs to keep buildings running smoothly and safely, across mechanical and electrical systems.

The role requires basic trade skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You’ll document work, follow safety standards, and support a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or trade school diploma with 1–2 years of related experience.
• Valid Driver License.
• Ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more and perform physical tasks.
• Follow basic work routines and safety standards.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, systems, equipment and grounds.
• Uses carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall patch, and doors & locks skills.
• Adheres to codes, regulations, and company safety directives.
• Performs day-to-day repairs and maintenance; completes records.
• Reviews work orders and estimates materials/time.
• Assists with installation/ modification of building equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs building systems.
• Inspects new installations for compliance with codes and safety laws.
• Maintains lighting systems and replaces bulbs/lamps.
• Performs locksmith tasks as needed.
• Responds to emergencies and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

CBRE is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician toperform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on building systemsincluding mechanical and electrical components. Ideal candidates have basicmechanical experience, strong organizational skills, and the physical abilityto handle manual tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Location: Life Science Facility in Framingham, MA

About this location: 7 buildings - Offices and Labs

What You’ll Do

• Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment and grounds. Working under close supervision, assists in monitoring building system operations and performance.
• Use several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, dry wall patch, doors & locks.
• Aligns with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
• Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to finish the tasks.
• Assists with installation and modification of building equipment systems.
• Assists with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings
• Inspects new installation for compliance with building codes and safety laws.
• Maintains lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.
• Performs carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
• Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Valid Driver License
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive attitude.
