Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Management team in San Francisco. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and small-scale improvements to office buildings and equipment, ensuring a first-class workplace experience in a fast-paced setting.

You will coordinate with building engineers and vendors, complete work orders, and follow safety regulations while delivering reliable, hands-on service with accountability and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to repair appliances, minor carpentry, and painting.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs in office spaces.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections and diagnose problems.
  • Assist with installation and modification of furniture and furnishings.
  • Resetting and cleaning of shared spaces and meeting rooms; deliver equipment as needed.
  • Inspect installations for code compliance and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with building engineers and vendors to complete systems work in tenanted spaces.

About The Role

As a CBRE Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, industrial systems, and equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for proving support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repairs within office spaces.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
  • Assist with the installation and modification of furniture, office table and chairs and additional indoor furnishings
  • Resetting and cleaning of shared spaces, meeting rooms, conference areas and hotel desks. Furniture reset, delivering temporary equipment and supplies.
  • Conduct building walkarounds to develop a comprehensive understanding of the portfolio buildings, their layouts, functions, and complexities
  • Investigate faults, identify causes and effect remedies. Directly complete minor repairs, painting and installations where required.
  • Liaise with building engineer team and vendors to escort and ensure completion of building systems work with in tenanted space.
  • Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
  • Review assigned work orders and partner with available systems to track completion.
  • Inspect existing installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems. Exchange straightforward information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ensure corrective / repair works are carried out in accordance with current regulations
  • Impact team through defined duties, methods and tasks as described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

  • Good customer relationship skills.

  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads in compliance with the rules defined by the applicable H&S regulation

The minimum salary for the Maintenance Technician position is $58,000 annually, and the maximum salary for the Maintenance Technician position is $68,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
