Job summary

General Mills, Inc. Avon Mill is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on flour and dry mix packaging lines. The role offers 8-hour shifts with on-site work at the Avon facility and start pay of $33.68 per hour, plus a $0.50 shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Training on 1st shift is available, with potential transfer to the assigned later shift. The plant operates 24/7 and includes overtime and premium pay opportunities, strong PTO, and health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to understand and communicate in English in the workplace.
• 1–2 years of industrial maintenance or related experience.
• Knowledge of PLCs, HVAC, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment to improve reliability and performance.
• Follow safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Install, maintain, repair, and replace machinery and work tools.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues.
• Manage work orders, parts requisition, and data entry in Maximo.
• Provide technical support and participate in root cause analysis.
• Conduct uptime and downtime preventative maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and contractors.
• Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives and training of new employees.
