Job summary

Publix Dacula Fresh Kitchen is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep and improve our food production equipment. You will troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems and automate controls, fabricate components, and perform welding as needed. Experience with PLCs and HMIs is valuable, and you will train teammates while keeping a clean, safe work area.

This role supports a fast-paced kitchen environment in Dacula, GA, and requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and tool use.
• Willingness to advance in the role.
• Willingness to complete a mechanical aptitude test before hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated individual.
• Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve equipment performance using preventive and condition-based maintenance techniques.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and equipment.
• Create requisitions to procure parts and supplies.
• Fabricate steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components and structures to improve safety, sanitation, and performance.
• Perform stick, TIG, sanitary TIG, and MIG welding.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, PLC networks, HMIs, instrumentation, and microprocessor-controlled devices.
• Perform minor plumbing and building repair and maintenance.
• Operate forklifts and other powered lift equipment.
• Train other team members.
• Perform housekeeping duties in the work area.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
