Job summary

Waterside District is seeking a Maintenance team member to perform general building upkeep and safety tasks at our Norfolk, VA facility. The role emphasizes quality workmanship and reliable equipment operation.

Responsibilities include completing minor repairs, maintaining cleanliness of entrances and exterior areas, and supporting other departments as needed. Candidates should have 1+ year of maintenance experience and basic plumbing/electrical knowledge.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of general building maintenance and repair experience.
• Completion of high school diploma or related vocational training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance work to ensure quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained.
• Complete minor work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, painting, repairs to pipes, toilets, sinks, etc.
• Ensure equipment is prepared and operational for the next day’s work.
• Monitor equipment and electrical systems for efficiency and make minor repairs as needed.
• Maintain front entrance, parking lot, and exterior areas in a clean and presentable state.
• Follow procedures to secure inventory and minimize waste.
• Report unsafe conditions or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Respond to guest questions to ensure satisfaction.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
