Job summary

ESFM is hiring a Maintenance Technician for a full-time role at our Canóvanas, PR location. The technician will perform skilled maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems, lead project teams, and support preventive maintenance programs.

Requirements include 5+ years in institutional maintenance, 4 years of skilled trade schooling, and Journeyman status or EPA certification. Some weekend work may be required, with a pay range of $13.00–$13.45 per hour.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.

Responsibilities

• Assists in decisions on repairs; reports major problems to supervisor.
• Maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems and related facilities.
• Cleans, services, and diagnoses HVAC and building systems; fires alarms and transport systems as needed.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Reads and transmits complex instructions verbally and in writing.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to others in the department.
• Reviews work of outside vendors and creates punch lists.
• Maintains logs, completes work orders, and performs tests/inspections.
