Job summary

CoreCivic in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Maintenance Worker, Community Corrections to install, maintain and repair the facility's structures and systems. You will work on plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles and grounds to support safe and secure operations.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, at least two years in maintenance or construction, a valid driver's license, and the ability to supervise residents in the Maintenance Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Two years of general maintenance or construction experience.
• Trade-school courses may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Knowledge of building construction and operation of building systems preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair physical structure of facility in line with safe operations.
• Inspect machines, diagnose malfunctions, dismantle and repair as needed.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus and components of machinery.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment per plan and keep components lubricated.
• Provide supervision and tracking of residents assigned to the Maintenance Department.
