Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living in New York is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventive maintenance, ensuring safety and aesthetics for residents and staff. You will report to the Plant Operations Director and support the Plant Maintenance team.

Responsibilities include handling biohazardous waste practices, maintaining a clean laundry area, following chemical safety standards, applying general maintenance tasks, and participating in state-mandated in-service training.

Qualifications

• Understands the practices surrounding proper handling of biohazardous waste.
• Follows standards and practices for the use of specific chemicals.
• Familiar with emergency procedures if chemicals are misused.
• Possesses the mechanical skills necessary for accomplishing repairs on systems and buildings.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance work (light electrical, painting, carpentry, etc.).
• Demonstrates the interest and ability to learn new skills and techniques as needed.
• Participates in in-service training as required by state regulations.
