Job description

Job Title: Commercial Maintenance Tech/Building Engineer

Schedule: Monday through Friday with emergency calls, and weekends as needed.

A commercial property management company is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician responsible for the day-to-day general maintenance and operations of multiple commercial properties.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Completing daily preventative maintenance inspections of properties.
2. Completing assigned work orders promptly.
3. Performing skills such as:
4. Basic plumbing, drain cleanout, fixture repair and replacement.
5. Lighting and basic electrical work.
6. HVAC preventative maintenance and filter changes.
7. Managing stock inventory of basic maintenance parts, bulbs, filters, among other items.
8. Troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other issues.
9. Knowledge of door, lock, and key hardware and assembly.
10. Understanding of relevant safety codes and ordinances.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Good communication and customer service skills.
3. Experience in commercial maintenance and contractor oversight.
4. Proficiency with work order systems on phone and computer, with accurate timekeeping.
5. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders/stairs, work on rooftops, and outdoors.
6. Availability to be on-call for after-hours emergencies, including evenings and weekends.
7. Valid driver’s license with a qualifying driving record.
8. Ability to pass a background check.
