Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling seeks a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in a landscape manufacturing setting. You will handle preventative maintenance, calibrations, and safety compliance on site in Fort Worth, TX.

Qualified candidates have a mechanical background, understand electrical schematics, and can provide their own tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 2 years experience in installing and maintaining electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment.
• Mechanical background required.
• Basic understanding of electrical (480V & 120V).
• Knowledge of electrical schematics.
• Industry-specific equipment knowledge preferred (water pumps, transfer pumps, coloring machines, etc).
• Provide own tools (SAE/metric, ratchet/socket set, wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeter).
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Meet deadlines and communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and in writing.
• Understand and follow written/verbal directions and safety procedures.
• Able to handle multiple projects and work with multiple management levels.
• Flexible hours and weekends.
• Bilingual a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, inspect, test, and repair electrical equipment.
• Keep equipment safe and well-maintained to ensure safety standards.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electronic control equipment.
• Collaborate with factory personnel, mostly remotely or onsite support, to troubleshoot performance issues.
• Work indoors/outdoors in a dusty landscape manufacturing setting and wear safety gear.
• Assist in safety, productivity, and training as needed.
• Report all accidents and injuries promptly.
• Plan periodic preventative maintenance activities and monitor system reliability.
• Review lines daily and calibrate equipment as needed.
• Monitor parts inventory and order supplies as required.
• Observe safety methods and use related equipment appropriately.
• Take on other duties as assigned by management.
