Job summary

Baxter in Batesville, IN is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and install a variety of electrical and mechanical equipment across the facility. You will work on production machines, motors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, boilers, ovens, electrical controls, and power distribution equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and two-year technical college education or equivalent

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Two-year technical college education or equivalent experience.
Experience with motors, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics and pneumatics, electrical systems and controls, and PLC troubleshooting.
Familiar with CMMS systems such as Maximo.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must pass the Grade 4 Maintenance Test.

Responsibilities

Fix, maintain, and install equipment across the facility to keep operations running smoothly.
Use wiring diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and other instructions to identify and solve equipment problems.
Complete routine preventive maintenance to help prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life.
Find and repair electrical problems, including replacing faulty parts when needed.
Repair and maintain mechanical equipment, including motors, pumps, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
Create or update wiring diagrams and maintenance records to support future repairs.
Order and track parts and supplies needed for maintenance work and recommend important spare parts to keep on hand.
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and help minimize production downtime.
Work with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and service technicians to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Support the installation of new equipment and help improve existing equipment.
Participate in team meetings and help solve equipment and production issues.
Communicate equipment concerns, repair updates, and improvement ideas with supervisors and team members.
Record maintenance activities and equipment information accurately.
Help train and support operators and team members when needed.
Identify potential equipment problems, safety concerns, or production interruptions and recommend solutions.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Follow all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
