Job summary

Baxter Healthcare in Batesville, IN is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain critical manufacturing equipment. You will lead floor maintenance, coordinate with operators, supervisors, engineers, and vendors to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial maintenance with leadership experience and hands-on skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two-year technical college education preferred.
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance with supervisory/leadership experience.
• Hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and automated equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance and equipment reliability.
• Experience with CMMS software, preferably Maximo.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance issues during regular hours, on call, or emergencies.
• Diagnose causes and determine the best solutions for equipment problems.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair or replace parts, reassemble, and test equipment.
• Order correct replacement parts and coordinate with vendors/service technicians.
• Troubleshoot and maintain CNC equipment, automatic welders, lathes, and power supplies.
• Maintain robots and hydraulic press equipment; ensure safe operation.
• Order and manage inventory for repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Create and maintain equipment documentation and drawings.
• Lead maintenance activities when shift lead is unavailable.
• Communicate progress to Maintenance Supervisor and address concerns.
