Job summary

Clayton is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our industrial team in Morristown, TN. You will troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480 V, repair to component level, and perform preventative maintenance to keep machinery running safely and efficiently.

You will work in a team, be available for overtime and occasional Saturdays, and use manuals and shop equipment to diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• 1+ years' experience as a Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting.
• Experience with electrical systems up to 480 volts.
• Able to demonstrate use of electrical meters and their functions.
• Knowledge of 3 phase voltage and troubleshooting methods.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical concepts.
• Experience with shop equipment, wood, metal or sheet metal.
• Good troubleshooting skills and ability to troubleshoot to component level.
• Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and operate with safety.

Responsibilities

• Work safely in the facility and report unsafe conditions.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components and machinery.
• Diagnose DC up to 24 VDC and AC up to 480 VAC; repair to component level.
• Perform preventive maintenance to improve output and performance.
• Collaborate in a team environment and support overtime/weekend needs.
• Install, repair and maintain machinery, piping, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Study blueprints and specs to identify defects and repairs needed.
• Inspect machinery and correct misalignments or wear; replace parts as needed.
• Realign and adjust equipment; dismantle and replace parts as necessary.
• Maintain lubrication of shafts, bearings, gears; service electrical wiring/transformers.
• Lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems; service related equipment.
• Maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
