Job summary

ABB Optical Group in New York is seeking a DEL Maintenance Associate responsible for the timely, efficient, and accurate repair of machines and equipment. The role involves working a routine schedule and performing tasks in other areas as needed.

The position requires communication in English, ability to report problems promptly, and capability to operate and calibrate a range of surfacing equipment unsupervised. Overtime is routinely expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year experience within the Digital Eye Lab or technical or manufacturing environment as determined relevant by management.

Responsibilities

• Communicate technical details with supervisor in English.
• Report machine and technical problems to supervisor promptly.
• Understand DEL workflow concept.
• Operate surfacing equipment unsupervised (air compressors, blockers, polishers, generators, engravers, non-dip backside coaters, Windows-based computers).
• Calibrate and start up listed equipment unsupervised.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and simple repairs unsupervised.
• Perform routine, scheduled and emergency maintenance.
• Assist with cleaning, trash removal and basic electrical/plumbing/mechanical tasks.
• Read and use technical documents such as parts lists and exploded drawings.
• Maintain contact with supervisor via email/phone.
• Overtime as necessary.
