Job summary

Bay Harbor Post Acute and Healthcare Center, a 295-bed Sub-Acute and Long-Term Care facility, is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for the day shift. You will perform rounds, minor plumbing, electrical, and cosmetic repairs, and assist with moves and projects to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for residents.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of general maintenance experience; skilled nursing facility experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of general maintenance experience required (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC).
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily physical rounds to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs.
• Review maintenance request logs and complete work orders promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to support improvements in resident living spaces and environment.
• Assist with furniture moves, equipment repairs, and general maintenance projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to support resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
