Job summary

Windward Communities seeks a Maintenance professional in Avon, NY to perform routine and preventive maintenance for the community and its amenities. You will help keep grounds, facilities, and equipment in top condition and provide friendly service to residents.

The role requires 2+ years of maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and ability to work outdoors in varying weather. On-call snow plowing may be required. Join a team focused on safety and community care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years with grounds and maintenance experience.
• A valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and automobile insurance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work.
• Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as outdoor work.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance.
• Proficiency operating various hand tools, power equipment and commercial machinery.
• Ability to push, lift and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to provide legible written reports.
• Ability to work well independently as well as on a team.
• Basic computer proficiency, particularly with email and internet.
• Availability to respond to community needs during non-business hours (on-call).

Responsibilities

• Ensures community is presentable, inviting, and adheres to curb appeal standards.
• Manages lawn care: weeds, leaves, shrubs, flowers, hedges.
• Cleans common areas and streets of trash and debris daily.
• Performs minor repairs to rental homes and facilities.
• Cleans clubhouse, offices, restrooms, and maintenance areas.
• Maintains vacant sites and removal of trash.
• Completes condition checklists before/after occupancy.
• Assists manager with supervision of service contractors.
• Inspects facilities and pool areas for proper operation.
• Removes snow from streets and entrances when needed.
• Maintains water testing and water/sewer systems as applicable.
• Maintains community pools and tests chemical levels.
• Follows safety procedures and operates vehicles as needed.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
