The Maintenance Technician, Community Corrections, installs, maintains, and repairs the facility's building structures and systems, including plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, equipment, electronics, vehicles, and grounds.

1. Maintain and repair the physical structure of the facility to ensure safe and secure operations.
2. Inspect machines and equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Dismantle defective or malfunctioning machines, install new or repaired parts, and test operation following repair.
3. Install and repair electrical apparatus, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
4. Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment according to the maintenance plan or as directed by the supervisor. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery.
5. Supervise and track inmates/residents assigned to the Maintenance Department appropriately.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED certification, or equivalent is required.
• Six months of related experience and/or training in general maintenance or construction is required.
• Skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, heating and air conditioning, and mechanics are preferred.
• HVAC certification is preferred.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
